Jayde and Andrew decided to create a very special day to commemorate their 10 years together through an intimate beach elopement in Caloundra, Sunshine Coast.
Jayde wanted a special, yet simple ceremony on the wide open sandy beach. She looked just beautiful in her bridal gown with Hair by Rolling Scissors and Make-up by Ruby Jade. Andrew and Jayde’s little girl played a very important role in the day (and was super cute). For such an important day there was no doubt that the love and inclusion of their family was foremost. Aiming for a calm and relaxed wedding on the Sunshine Coast, Kirstie and Caleb enlisted lots of helping hands and some sweet DIY. The result was “the most beautiful and relaxed day we can have ever hoped for”.
Nestled in the heart of the Hinterland is a secret location that we JUST ADORE (contact us for the ‘head’s up’). Why do we love this venue? Ah… well we actually tied the knot here ourselves, so when Kirstie and Caleb contacted us we were over the moon (I wish I could say literally because that would be pretty darn cool, but totally metaphorically over the moon).
Caleb and Kirstie have a pretty special story to tell which started five years ago and sees one special young lady venturing off into the country… their adventures are set to continue as they gear up to welcome a new person to the world in the near future.
Stunning Simplicity in the floral arrangements by Mondo Floral. Very precious connection between bouquet and the soon-to-be. Kirstie’s is just so truly wonderful. Hair by Amia Hair and Make-up by KJ Artistry
Cassandra Neilsen (Coastline Celebrant) presided, and crafted a beautiful ceremony full of all the right elements. She always has the knack of capturing the essence of a couple and maintaining relaxed atmosphere.
“The most amazing thing that I enjoyed about my wedding day was marrying the love of my life my best friend. And also having all our family and close friends there. We live over all different parts of Australia and to come together for the day was very special for us.”
Ah you two! You are just so sweet and generous with each-other. No doubt you will keep those smiles forever. We wish you the best as you prepare to welcome your new little person into this beautiful world. Enjoy, it is what life is all about. xxx
It be love, folks!
We would love to spend the time with you on your wedding day to capture it all. It’s what we do. It’s what we love to do. Contact us now to have a chat.

Josh and Emma wanted a Wedding that held a party vibe rather than a truly formal affair. Their Sunshine Coast wedding day captured the essence of fun that they were after, combining love and laughter with the HILARIOUS Lynette Maguire Celebrant, their gregarious bridal party and of course the love-birds themselves. We were already beyond excited to be part of this day and then to discover that Deluxe Kombis were our travelling companions was almost too much. These little read and blue babies are divine, and for a wedding photographer who loves creativity and reflections, Matt Rowe set about with a skip in his stride.
“I had my dad tie a silver sixpence to my shoe for good luck” “The pendants on my bouquet symbolise my grandmothers, two of whom we have lost”
Nothing like a wingman (except a Wingman with a really cool badge). Nothing like a rock off mid ceremony. Emma and Josh had a Celtic Hand Fastening where friends and family asked question that required some immediate answers and also dear promises. What a great way to involve your guests and acknowledge their connection to your lives and day. “There are so many great memories from our wedding day but I think the most stand out one for me would be mucking around after the ceremony with Josh and the bridal party getting our photos taken doing hilarious poses and just having a laugh.” Emma A very cool day for a pretty special couple who waited 12 years to commit for the rest of their lives. Rad. With a reception at Ebb Restaurant full of laughs and hilarity, we are so sure these two will glide into the future with a kick in their heels and a smile on their faces. You guys rock!

We just love unique details when it comes to nuptials. From the little thoughts to the grandest gestures it’s often the ‘behind-the-scenes’ preparation that helps to carry meaning into the BIG day! Dee and Lucas created a lovely wedding together with their loved ones and cute little men. Our wedding photography booking was actually held for around two years so the build up and excitement was huge! Settle back and prepare to feast your eyes on some beautiful Maleny Manor Wedding Photography.
This stunning bride is the super lovely, Dee. I (Amanda) just love everything about the ‘look’ that she chose for her special day. 10 out of 10 I say! What a divine gown, gorgeous hair and make-up (that’s a high five to you Kerrie Mace from Hair4Brides and Lisa Thomas from Makeup4Brides). Just wait until you get a little further on and check out her totally original and personalised shoes!
I know, I know… arn’t these two just too cute. How lovely to have your children as your sidekicks/ groomsmen. Told you these shoes were pretty darn special. Says something a little more about paving the road and creating the journey of your dreams. Hey, every step counts and when you’re walking in a whole lots of blessings that is a road I’d like to be on. Yes, you did just see that! Arrival by Helicopter is a very unique option for those who wed at Maleny Manor.

A family affair – Flaxton Gardens wedding photography
Ultimately family is with us from the beginning of our time, throughout the laughs and falls and there with us at the end. Family (as a concept and in reality) is dynamic: it grows and changes. Within a wedding family, along with friends, support and celebrate each couple as they connect, enhance and enrich this ever-changing family unit. Sue and Peter’s Flaxton Gardens Wedding certainly championed the full importance of family.
In our pre-wedding photography discussions, Sue did specify that she wanted lots of photos of Peter waiting, waiting, waiting… but the day before she said there was no chance she would be late as she just wanted to be there with him and get married. There is always a heart-pounding urgency in the emotion of love xox
Kathy a.k.a The Sunshine Coast Celebrant adores working with couples that are open to ideas, creative and have a genuine desire not just for a big event but more to just simply be married to their best friends.
In-line skaters, Sue and Peter, enjoying their life together and with their grandchildren. Flaxton Gardens is always beautiful due to the inspiring backdrop and architectural features throughout the venue. Built and cared for with love, Flaxton Gardens remains a top choice for Sunshine Coast weddings.
Now if it isn’t obvious that grandchildren are a huge party of this celebration then it will be soon! Flaxton Gardens is just a little bit of candy for the creative eye. With so many beautiful vantage points in the one location, it is both stunning and convenient for couples who want beautiful wedding memories captured in art and desire to maximise time with their guests without location travel. Double points!
Often people wonder what young children will find to occupy themselves at a formal event. The answer is quite simple: each-other, games, food and technology. We just love the series of photos of all the children as they are allowed to entertain themselves in a myriad of ways.

Time does pass quickly, too quickly most people will say.. but then, as we know, that’s all relative. With Christmas approaching I can still remember how long it used to take to arrive and how truly anticipated this special time was from a child’s perspective. The more time we spend in these special times with our special people, the more we all benefit.
I do hate clichés and this post can really only wind up there (sorry): enjoy the presence this Christmas especially the little ones you hold dear!
My brother used to call it “The Big Regret”, you know that feeling after a rambunctious night out, where you were the master of your domain, your preferred gender and the entire dance floor? There is a moment somewhere between rolling off the couch and clambering to the kitchen sink (or toilet) where the flash-backs come. It’s a new world out there now, and in this situation I believe it is frightening. Flash-backs are now permanent and highly social, they are on networks before your eyes open. Before you work out where you are, everyone already knows where you’ve been and how you looked.
This is a post about the benefits of makeup for professional photography, but it needed to be said that nowadays your photos is likely to be taken multiple times and posted in the public domain, so get your makeup right – do a course, learn a few tips and (if you are at all like me -Amanda – then you probably should have sought professional guidance before wearing peach shimmer lipstick to school each day).
In the photography industry you have more control. A professional works with composition and light to create the desired outcome, yet the enhancement of awesome makeup can make a world of difference (and save hours of photoshop time).
Professional makeup artists are just that, they are artists. They too understand composition and light. Though their canvas is smaller (your face), the landscape may be one for the intrepid traveller. Photos are two-dimensional and this means the camera can potentially age subjects by enhancing dark, fine lines and wrinkles. Makeup artists have heaps of cool tips and tools; they can emphasize, de-emphasize or even simulate for the best overall effect. They are masters of their domain and we appreciate the great skill involved.
When having beautiful photos taken, whether it be your wedding, formal or family shoot… don’t experience the ‘big regret’ – hire a professional!
Mothers are so influential, dynamic and beautiful. What greater beauty in life can there be than participating in creating it? This post is dedicated to all mothers: yours, ours, wives and our daughters for their future joys. While not all can be mothers, the power to nurture all is the force that surpasses biology and extends to all who require love… just remember the grace and power of Mother Teresa.
We celebrate a super mum in this post, together with her gorgeous little man and their baby-to-be.
… seriously, who can resist smiling when a little person starts to chuckle. It has to be the greatest sound in the world!
We love celebrating motherhood, do contact us if you would like to record this amazing moment in your life at www.mattrowephotography.com.au
