Dappled light, a row boat docked on a sweet little lake, birds a-chirping and the sweetest couple you ever did see – perfect for a love shoot with Sunshine Coast Photographer, Matt Rowe Photography.
Chefs by trade, Alex and Brett met while creating romantic dinners for other in love couples. While shy at first their attraction blossomed in the unlikely rush and heat of the kitchen. Alex admits that she was so excited and nervous for their first date that anxiety overtook her for the week leading up to what would be the beginning of a sweet love story.
Fast-track a number of months and we see this lovely pair together on the beach. Yes this is the part where Brett drops to one knee and proposes (there is romance in this young gentleman!). To capture the connection of this lovely couple we found the perfect backdrop for love – Annabella the Wedding Chapel in Ilkley, Sunshine Coast. Quaint, intimate and truly divine, Annabella the Wedding Chapel is fast becoming a location of choice for weddings.
We love a little rustic charm for a love shoot! What connects this couple is their “passion for the same things and similar views for [their] goals and dreams in life”. Alex loves Brett’s handsome yet cheeky grin, his kind and forgiving heart, his easy going views on life and his sense of humour”, which she admits she doesn’t always get, but absolutely loves. And Brett… well he just loves Alex. Completely. Truly. “In the future we look forward to sharing many wonderful memories together, building our home, creating a family and travelling until we are old.”
Sunshine Coast E-shoot
Rachael and Mick have a story to tell. It’s pretty awesome. They met when they were two years old. We can’t really start the love story there, but definitely the potential was marked out and the universe knew what was in store.
For their Sunshine Coast e-shoot, we took them to our Secret Spot on the Sunshine Coast.
With an inspiringly beautiful wedding planned at Mount Tambourine Rachael and Mick are set to keep that relationship until they are 102.
We love an e-shoot and really feel that it has great value for each couple as they get used to professional photography. Often developing the relationship with your photographer in a laid-back, relaxed setting is a real comfort as you prepare for your wedding day photography. As Rachael said: “Thanks so much for taking the photos for us on Sunday we had such a good time and felt really comfortable.”
I often get asked about “posing”. Yes, to a degree I will show you where to place hands etc. and give you a few ideas about looking amazing, then it is really all about your interactions. The aim with Professional Portraiture of this kind is to get you looking both your best and natural. A tricky mix for sure, but once we are on location you’ll realised that you are in the hands of a professional and an e-shoot is a whole lot of fun.

Moloolaba Beach Wedding Photography
Angela and Adrian just had us smiling. Their beautiful beach wedding was the perfect blend of nature, family, friends and great vibes. For a photographer, these guys were quite the dream!
Hair by Evalyn Parsons, Make-up by KJ Artistry, Bridal Gown by Marilyn Crystelle Bridal.
Ah… just breathing in the moment.
Out on their couple’s shoot a dolphin appeared – you just can’t order in these little flashes of brilliance. Nature gives when the time is right!
Moloolaba Beach Wedding Photography at its best! Thanks Adrian and Ange, you are both such happy people with a true appreciation of each-other. We have both enjoyed playing our part in your day and also creating a stunning Wedding Album for all those fun-filled years together. We wish you the best – love, laughter and those smiles. M & A

Hinterland wedding photographer
Aiming for a calm and relaxed wedding on the Sunshine Coast, Kirstie and Caleb enlisted lots of helping hands and some sweet DIY. The result was “the most beautiful and relaxed day we can have ever hoped for”.
Nestled in the heart of the Hinterland is a secret location that we JUST ADORE (contact us for the ‘head’s up’). Why do we love this venue? Ah… well we actually tied the knot here ourselves, so when Kirstie and Caleb contacted us we were over the moon (I wish I could say literally because that would be pretty darn cool, but totally metaphorically over the moon).
Caleb and Kirstie have a pretty special story to tell which started five years ago and sees one special young lady venturing off into the country… their adventures are set to continue as they gear up to welcome a new person to the world in the near future.
Stunning Simplicity in the floral arrangements by Mondo Floral. Very precious connection between bouquet and the soon-to-be.
Kirstie’s is just so truly wonderful. Hair by Amia Hair and Make-up by KJ Artistry
How cool is this? Kirstie and her bridesmaid, Jess have been friends FOREVER and are now due to be mums within weeks of each-other.
Cassandra Neilsen (Coastline Celebrant) presided, and crafted a beautiful ceremony full of all the right elements. She always has the knack of capturing the essence of a couple and maintaining relaxed atmosphere.
Meet Chilli – current centre of attention.
“The most amazing thing that I enjoyed about my wedding day was marrying the love of my life my best friend. And also having all our family and close friends there. We live over all different parts of Australia and to come together for the day was very special for us.”
Ah you two! You are just so sweet and generous with each-other. No doubt you will keep those smiles forever. We wish you the best as you prepare to welcome your new little person into this beautiful world. Enjoy, it is what life is all about. xxx
It be love, folks!
We would love to spend the time with you on your wedding day to capture it all. It’s what we do. It’s what we love to do. Contact us now to have a chat.

Maroochy Botanic Gardens Wedding Photography
Josh and Emma wanted a Wedding that held a party vibe rather than a truly formal affair. Their Sunshine Coast wedding day captured the essence of fun that they were after, combining love and laughter with the HILARIOUS Lynette Maguire Celebrant, their gregarious bridal party and of course the love-birds themselves. We were already beyond excited to be part of this day and then to discover that Deluxe Kombis were our travelling companions was almost too much. These little read and blue babies are divine, and for a wedding photographer who loves creativity and reflections, Matt Rowe set about with a skip in his stride.
So let us meet these two. Here is Josh:
And here is Emma:
I know: Wow! Emma was such an elegant and relaxed bride. Hats off here to KJ Artistry and Inside Hair for enhancing her beauty.
“I had my dad tie a silver sixpence to my shoe for good luck”
“The pendants on my bouquet symbolise my grandmothers, two of whom we have lost”
Nothing like a wingman (except a Wingman with a really cool badge).
Nothing like a rock off mid ceremony.
Emma and Josh had a Celtic Hand Fastening where friends and family asked question that required some immediate answers and also dear promises. What a great way to involve your guests and acknowledge their connection to your lives and day.
“There are so many great memories from our wedding day but I think the most stand out one for me would be mucking around after the ceremony with Josh and the bridal party getting our photos taken doing hilarious poses and just having a laugh.” Emma
A very cool day for a pretty special couple who waited 12 years to commit for the rest of their lives. Rad. With a reception at Ebb Restaurant full of laughs and hilarity, we are so sure these two will glide into the future with a kick in their heels and a smile on their faces. You guys rock!
