Laura & Tim | Maleny Old Dairy Wedding

Maleny old dairy Photography How did you meet? A group of us went out for my brother in law’s birthday and he invited a new colleague of his that had just moved over from Italy to come along. I was a little surprised to meet Tim and realise he was definitively not Italian! We had an instant connection and over the coming months, started hanging out as friends outside of the group setting. I was a keen runner and Tim asked if he could come along with me sometime. I wasn’t sold on this as I was worried he may slow me down but didn’t want to offend him so I agreed. I needn’t have been concerned as it turns out he was a natural and very quickly surpassed me. Running is still a huge part of our relationship.

We had a great time training for the event until a couple of weeks beforehand when I was hit by ITB problems. I didn’t want to let Tim or myself down so I pushed ahead with the event. It was a very painful day to say the least – and took a LOT longer than we’d planned. Tim was very encouraging and supportive, never making me feel like I was slowing him down and patiently guiding me through the most painful points. About half way around, at the top of Nellie’s Glen (a beautiful, steep climb out of the valley), Tim coaxed me off the path to enjoy the view and just when I thought we were ready to set off again, he pulled out a ring and grinned at me. There were some extremely low points during the second half of the run but I just kept looking down at the new ring my finger and that helped a lot.

We’re the best of friends; both very laid back and happy to go with the flow. We love getting out into the bush so trail running is a natural hobby for us and one we are trying to build a business around.

Getting married! The rest of it is icing on the cake.

How did you hear about Matt Rowe Photography? We did a lot of googling in order to find a photographer whose style we liked. Photography is important to both of us and not something we wanted to cut corners with.

Why did you choose Matt Rowe Photography? When we met Matt, he was knowledgeable and relaxed. We’re confident that he’ll be able to capture the spirit of our celebration while putting everyone at ease.

How do you want to feel when you see your photos for the first time?
Special! I want to be able to see the friendship, sense of fun and love that we share.
