Something Borrowed

Something old, something new

Something borrowed, something blue

And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

According to tradition a bride should have each of these tokens represented or with her on her Wedding Day. We love the concept of linking back to past and carrying the depth of meaning and the joy experienced by others into the “new” relationship. To break it down:

  • Something old – continuity with the bride’s family and the past
  • Something new – optimism and hope for the bride’s new life ahead
  • Something borrowed – an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride
  • Something blue – Apparently before the late 19th century, blue was a popular colour for wedding gowns.

At our most recent Wedding, we found one of the coolest “something borrowed” and from a very successful person – no name dropping here, you’ll just have to wait for our sneak peak on our facebook page or check out our website www.mattrowephotography.com.au in the near future!

Under the Bridge

Let me paint the scene: gorgeous bride – stunning and glowing-, handsome groom – nervous yet bold-, unique location which held the metaphors of life’s journey, changing times and the purpose of direction. Under the bridge Love this shot. Love the balance, origniality and the way it expresses M & S in their relationship.
